    Important Swim Season Updates

Good Morning Wahoos! The season is almost over but we have a LOT of info to share about the next two weeks. Please READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY!

    SWIM-A-THON
It was a wash out, but stay tuned for updates !

    FINAL FUN FRIDAYS

Practice is still happening every morning! We have 2 more Friday practices! If you'd like to provide a sweet treat for the team at one of these practices (so far we've had donuts and snow cones), please sign-up at THIS LINK.

FINAL FIESTA, Saturday July 27, 8:30am
Come enjoy a fun event at home and one last chance to qualify for City Meet! We'll have a fun fiesta flare with some great swim pairings, lively music and $5 Walking Tacos from the Snack Shack! It's time to leave it all in the pool, Wahoos!

***Please declare your swimmers for this event if you have not.***

RACE THE LIFEGUARDS, Saturday, July 27, 11:00am

After the Final Fiesta comes the Race the Lifeguard Fundraiser! This is an optional pool event but it's your chance to race one of our wonderful guards for $5 - with a catch! You can ALSO pay a little more to give them a disadvantage! All proceeds go directly to the lifeguards. See more info at the FB event here or check your email for a message from Wendwood Pool!

GPSA CHAMPIONSHIP MEET (CITY MEET), Saturday, August 3, 8:00am
This is the big show! I will be sending another email with many more details about this huge league-wide event, but it will be be held at the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex this year! Click on the meet sign up on the schedule  to see if your swimmer is qualified and in what events. PLEASE DECLARE YOUR SWIMMER AS ATTENDING AND SELECT THE EVENTS THEY WANT TO SWIM AT CITY MEET. Swimmers can swim up to 3 individual events plus a relay. Swimmers MUST be declared by noon this Saturday!

If your swimmer is not qualified for City Meet or wants to qualify in a different event, Final Fiesta is the last chance to do so! Declare your swimmer for the Final Fiesta event and select what they'd like to swim so we can be sure to match them up well on Saturday!

City Meet is an all day event and will run in 2 sessions this year. Session 1 for 8 & under swimmers will start with warm ups at 8:00am. Ages 9+ will run after the first session but expect a 10-10:30ish warm up time.  More info forthcoming on volunteers, tent space, ads, etc.

WAHOOS END OF SEASON PARTY AND AWARDS, Sunday, August 4, 6:00pm
We will be celebrating our team's accomplishments at our End-Of-The-Season Party on Sunday, August 4 at 6pm at the pool. This will include pizza, cake, awards, and fun (including the ever-anticipated swimmers vs. adults relay). The team will provide pizza and cake but we do need your help for drinks and snacks. Please sign-up to bring something via THIS LINK.

RSVP via Swimtopia so we can make sure to have enough food for all.

We will especially honor and recognize two of our swimmers who are finishing their final year with us and who have contributed so many years to this team - Noah Rohlfs and Wyatt McDaniel.

The back-up location in case of inclement weather will be at First Baptist Church in their fellowship hall. If we need to move the party to this location, a notification will be sent out via Swimtopia.
We can't wait to see you there!
Please let me know if you have any questions about any of these events!
